# Blockchain & Settlement Layer

T-Blocks operates as a multi-chain digital securities infrastructure. The platform is currently integrated with the XRP Ledger as its primary settlement layer, with architecture designed to accommodate additional blockchain ecosystems as institutional market infrastructure evolves.

**XRP Ledger — Primary Settlement Layer**

The XRP Ledger has been operational since 2012, with continuous uptime and active deployment by financial institutions for cross-border settlement and digital asset infrastructure. It uses a Federated Byzantine Agreement (FBA) consensus protocol operated by independent institutional validators, with no proof-of-work or proof-of-stake mechanism, achieving transaction finality in 3–5 seconds at approximately 1,500 transactions per second.

RWA tokenization on the XRP Ledger is supported through the following native token standards: Issued Currencies (IOU) for fungible asset representation, Non-Fungible Tokens (XLS-20) for unique asset certificates, and Multi-Purpose Tokens (MPT / XLS-33) — a recently ratified standard purpose-built for regulated financial instruments, supporting transfer restrictions, compliance controls, and institutional asset lifecycle management natively at the protocol level.

All token transactions are recorded on the XRP Ledger's public, immutable ledger, providing a transparent and auditable record of issuances, transfers, and redemptions that complements the Management Company's internal registers and the statutory auditor's annual verification.

**Multi-Chain Issuance — Extended Distribution**

Where an issuer's distribution strategy requires access to investor bases operating on alternative blockchain ecosystems, T-Blocks can facilitate tokenization on third-party blockchain infrastructure through appointed tokenization partners — provided that the underlying Luxembourg instrument has been issued and is in good standing within T-Blocks Trio Fund. The legal note remains the authoritative instrument in all cases.
